Starting in 1946 as Southern Counties Car Auctions, we were one of the first companies to allow people across the UK the opportunity to buy and sell a wide range of cars at auction. At our first auction we sold 14 cars.

Today, British Car Auctions is part of BCA Marketplace plc, a company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
We sell more than one million vehicles annually and are Europe’s largest vehicle remarketing company.
We are managing used car sales at 50 centres across 10 countries: UK, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Sweden.

BCA in Portugal

BCA in Portugal was established in 1997 to support the purchase and sale of used vehicles in Portugal. Aimed exclusively at professionals in the sector (excluding industrial, agricultural and transport equipment auctions, which are also aimed at private individuals), its services are based on seeking out and selecting used vehicles for auction from a wide variety of sources, such as companies, credit and fleet management systems, rent-a-car, dealerships, private individuals, etc.

Since 1997, BCA has been consolidating its leadership in Portugal, with sustained growth both in terms of vehicles auctioned and the number of clients. It currently has three centres in Lisbon, Porto and Pombal, a Welcome Centre (Lisbon). The concept developed makes it possible to match demand and supply of used vehicles with total transparency and impartiality, finding the correct market price for each vehicle.

BCA is supported and guaranteed internationally by the largest car auction company, BCA - British Car Auctions, which operates more than 40 auction centres throughout Europe, namely in Portugal, England, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Hungary, Norway, Spain, France, Sweden and Austria. BCA's aim is to create the concept of transparency and impartiality in the used car market, which in turn will translate into fair market prices, benefiting both buyers and sellers.
